From the last Sunday's 24 Hours of Nürburgring victory to the LMGTE Am pole position this weekend at the 8H Portimão, the second round of the FIA WEC Championship. Matteo Cairoli is strongly motivated as well as his team-mates Riccardo Pera and the Bronze driver Egidio Perfetti, the latter who has completed the qualifying.
Following a very unlucky 6H Spa ended before the start due to the crash occurred Perfetti in the official session, at the Algarve circuit the Norwegian racer set the quickest time this afternoon in the
Team Project 1 Porsche 911 RSR shared with the two Italians.
"I'm very happy. It was what Egidio needed," Cairoli said. "Perfetti did a great lap in qualifying. Tomorrow we'll try to complete his job in the best way. We have the right potential to do that."
The Team Project 1 trio showed well also in the practices, setting the fastest time in the second and third sessions leading a 12-car pack.
Tomorrow the 8H Portimão will commence at 11 local time, 12 CEST.
