From zero to a thousand in just eight years, not even a third of Matteo Cairoli's age (Born in 1996). The Italian driver began his flash career thriving in the single-seaters.
After his 2012 debut in F.Renault, he completed a season in the German F3 championship winning two podiums. After a number of races in 2014 for F4, Cairoli moved to the GTs, immediately winning the Carrera Cup Italia title; six victories, seven podiums and four pole positions is the winning formula of a fantastic first year in this field. In addition, Cairoli also gained the bonus of being one of the best on Porsche Italy Scholarship Programme, and later on went on to win the Porsche Motorsport International Shootout; Cairoli's respectable CV has contributed tremendously to his astounding achievements as a Porsche Junior driver.
2015 was the year Cairoli made his debut in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, for which he won the 'Rookie' title. The following year was even better, graduating as a runner-up in the series reserved for the cars of the Stuttgart company, winning races in Barcelona, in the exclusive city circuit of Monte Carlo and finally in Hockenheim and Monza.
2017 was marked as a successful year for the Young Professional Driver, he obtained the privilege of signing a contract with Porsche and his double debut in the FIA WEC World Championship, where he immediately managed to nail second place in the championship with two wins; Cairoli also completed the European Le Mans Series where he finished third, gaining more credit as a professional driver.
In the same year, Cairoli took part for the first time in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the Dempsey-Proton Racing team. He has played three editions of the La Sarthe race so far, seasoned by the LMGte pole scored in 2018 and 2019. Within the same two-year period he continues his commitment with the WEC and the ELMS series.
Matteo is currently taking part in three consecutive editions of the Nürburgring 24 Hours, winning in 2019 the Pro-Am class and the fifth overall place. A story that is still to be continued...
