The Italian vows to bounce back at Nürburgring
Matteo Cairoli endured another tough weekend in the ADAC GT Masters at Zandvoort. Sharing the duties with Belgian racer Adrien de Leener in a Küs Team75 Bernhard's Porsche 991 GT3 R car, after a rain-effected first session the Porsche Young Professional driver missed the free practice 2 due to a clutch issue.
In the first race De Leener started from 26th before handing over to Cairoli who moved up 12th. Eventually the Italian collided with an Audi, that costed him a ten-place grid penalty for race 2.
On Sunday morning's qualifying Cairoli encountered traffic on his quick lap and then was stopped by a final red flag after he set the second best time to finish tenth. Starting from the back the Italian completed another good recover taking the 14th place.
Five days after the Dutch round, the pair is set to hit the track again as the ADAC GT Masters series heads this weekend (16/18 August) to Nürburgring.
