Matteo Cairoli with Emil Frey Racing for the 2026 Season

Matteo Cairoli is ready to write a new chapter in his career. In the 2026 season, the 29-year-old driver from Como will join forces with Emil Frey Racing, the highly respected Swiss squad that will support him in a double programme. Matteo will compete in the DTM and the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup at the wheel of the new Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo.

An exciting challenge awaits the Italian driver, with the DTM representing a thrilling test and the only opportunity for drivers to race GT3 cars in a solo format. It is an extremely competitive championship in which Matteo will defend the Italian colours at the wheel of an Italian car, while benefiting from the strength and experience of the Swiss outfit, which has been fielding Ferraris for the past three seasons.

Matteo will also compete in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup, once again driving the Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, sharing the cockpit with Konsta Lappalainen, the Finnish driver who has already taken part in SRO’s Sprint series in recent years.

The DTM season will kick off on April 25 at the Red Bull Ring, before continuing across eight rounds at Zandvoort, Lausitzring, Norisring, Oschersleben, Nürburgring and Sachsenring, concluding with the season finale in Hockenheim on October 11. The GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup will begin at Brands Hatch on May 2, followed by a stop in Misano — Matteo’s only home race of the season — on July 18. The series will then visit Magny-Cours and Zandvoort before the final round in Barcelona on October 4.
