Matteo Cairoli celebrated his fourth 24H Nürburgring participation, claiming a stunning Pro-Am victory for Manthey-Racing team. Sharing a Porsche 911 GT3 R (2016) car with Dennis Olsen, Lars Kern and gentleman Otto Klohs, the Italian driver completed a perfect race to take a fifth overall position over 158 cars.
“Despite our chassis is 65.000 kms old, we had no issue. Everything worked well… no penalty, no contact”, Cairoli said, “After a very disappointing 24 Hours of Le Mans, this victory was what I need”.
Cairoli drove for more than six hours in total, producing an absolutely sensational performance and completing a double stint during the night. That is the best result he achieved at the 24H Nürburgring.
The next commitment will be on 19/20 July at Barcelona, third of the European Le Mans Series’ rounds.
