Matteo Cairoli claimed the fourth GTeAm position in the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, round 6 of the FIA World Championship Endurance held Saturday.
The Italian racer ended a tough race, that was heavily rain-affected in the first part to finish in sunny and dry condition. Cairoli, alongside his team-mates Laurents Hörr and Egidio Perfetti on a Team Project 1-run Porsche 911 RSR car, despite his best effort finished out of the podium.
"I'm truly a bit disappointed. The strategy was not perfect, although we had a good car", Cairoli stated, "Now I want to stay focused on Le Mans, that is the most important race of the season. I'm definitely confident to do well there."
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is scheduled for 19th/20th September.
