Matteo Cairoli eyes better fortune at 4 Hours of Shanghai
7 November, 2019 FIA WEC

Matteo Cairoli looks for his third podium in three years at Shanghai, as the FIA WEC Championship heads this coming weekend to China for Round 3 of the 2019/2020 season. Following the seventh place claimed at the end of a chaotic 6 Hours of Fuji and the P6 of Silverstone, the Italian driver aims to the top spot in the LMGTe category.

Pairing Egidio Perfetti and David Heinemeier Hansson in a Team Project 1’s Porsche, Cairoli is hopeful of a good result.

“I hope everything goes as planned. The track is not easy, expecially for the high tire consumption. We’ll try to find soon a good setup to be competitive immediately”, Cairoli said, “This is the third time I race at Shanghai, having finished third last year and in 2017.”

Free practice one and two kick off the weekend tomorrow. Qualifying gets underway on Saturday, with the 4 Hours race start scheduled on Sunday at 5 am CEST.
