GT World Challenge Europe campaign starts this coming weekend, 25th/26th July, for Matteo Cairoli. The Italian racer is set to get back to action at Imola, that hosts the first out of four rounds of the Endurance Cup championship.
The 24-year-old experienced Como-based racing driver makes his first official appearance with the Italian squad Dinamic Motorsport, alongside German team-mates Christian Engelhart and Sven Müller.
“This is my first time with Dinamic Motorsport and my first time alongside Engelhart and Müller, who were both my rivals in the past seasons”, Cairoli explained. “I am quite confident to show well. We have done a good amount of testing at Misano and Nürburgring. With a strong 45-car grid, we’re aiming to score as many points as possible.”
Last time Cairoli raced at Imola it was in 2014, the year he claimed the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia title.
Free practice will get underway at 09,00 on Saturday, ahead of pre-qualifying at 13,10 and qualifying from 17,30 to 18,30. The three-hour race will commence on Sunday at 13,30 with live stream at https://www.gt-world-challenge-europe.com/live.
