Matteo Cairoli faced a difficult weekend at the Paul Ricard. A number of issues prevented him to clinch the GT World Challenge Europe title. Heading to the French circuit as a Endurance Cup front-runner, the Dinamic Motorsport's driver and team-mates Christian Engelhart and Sven Müller ended third in the standings after claiming a P10 race finish.
The Porsche 911 GT3 R car run by the Italian squad suffered a lack of speed since Saturday's qualifying. As a result of that, Cairoli, Engelhart and Müller finished 26th on the grid.
"This is not the final race I expected. The team is investigating the cause of the problem we had", Cairoli explained. "Definitely we had a great season. For sure I want to return to the championship next year."
Following a difficult opener at Imola, Cairoli, Engelhart and Müller secured a brilliant victory in the second round at the Nürburgring. Then they finished third the 24 Hours of Spa after a superb last driving stint of Matteo.
