Just over four months since Matteo Cairoli made his last race appearance at the 6 Hours of COTA claiming a P3 LMGTe Am finish, the Italian racer is set to embark on his long-awaited competitive bow in the Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie this coming Sunday, 12th July.
Cairoli, who turned 24 early last June, will drive a Falken Motorsport’s Porsche sharing the duties at the 23-kilometre Nordschleife circuit with expert British driver Peter Dumbreck.
“I’m very thrilled to get going at the race weekend after a long time. Firstly because it has been frustrating in the last months being far from tracks. On the other hand I really love Nürburgring, one of my favourite circuts”, Cairoli said. “This is the first time I race for Falken Motorsport, that is a highly professional and experienced squad as well as my team-mate”.
Cairoli will enter Race 3 of the championship, before heading to Imola for the 2020 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance opener scheduled for 26th/27th July.
