Three monts since his last race at 24 Hours of Dubai, Matteo Cairoli will finally get back to action at Monza this coming weekend, 16th/18th April, when the opening round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS takes place.
The Italian will drive a Dinamic Motorsport's Porsche 911 GT3-R car alongside German team-mates Christian Engelhart and Klaus Bachler. After a super 2020 season marked by a victory at the Nürburgring and two podium finishes, Cairoli is targeting another big result.
"After a very long waiting period, I'm really looking forward to it", Cairoli said. "I'm very happy to start the GT World Challenge season from my home track. I'm ready and focused on my job. We have some good chances to do well this year".
The first of five rounds of the Endurance Cup season will be a three-hour encounter with an expected grid of 44 cars. Free practice at Monza will get underway on Saturday at 9:00 followed by pre-qualifying session at 14:05. Qualifying will be held on Sunday from 9:00 to 10:00 ahead of the race that will commence at 15:00.
