The last race of the year ended with a LMGTe-Am ninth position for Matteo Cairoli. The Italian Porsche Young Professional driver edured an unlucky 8 Hours of Bahrain, fourth of the eight FIA WEC rounds.
Starting from the second row of the grid, a problem to the exhaust forced Team Project 1 Porsche shared by the Como-based racer with Egidio Perfetti and David Heinemeier Hansson to pit for a long time after one hour and half.
“It was a shame. The car was good and we had once more the potential to aim for a podium finish. We definitively had bad luck”, Cairoli said.
The next round of the 2019/2020 season will be in two months, on 22/23 February, at the Austin track.
