Matteo Cairoli enjoyed a strong two-day official Prologue at Spa-Francorchamps yesterday and Monday, ahead of FIA WEC curtain-raiser this coming weekend.
The Italian racing driver, sharing the Team Project 1 Porsche 911 RSR car with compatriot Riccardo Pera and Norwegian Egidio Perfetti, was among the fastest of the LMGte Am. The trio topped the category in two of the four sessions and finished third in the others.
"The team completed the work we needed to do and I think we have a great pace for this weekend's race. We are in a very good mood. I love this track and I'm strongly determined to repeat the Monza weekend.", said Cairoli, who only two weeks ago started the GT World Challenge Europe campaign claiming a sensational victory at his home-track in the Dinamic Motorsport Porsche.
The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps - first of the six 2021 FIA WEC rounds - will commence on Saturday at 13.30. Free practice 1 will kick-off the weekend tomorrow. Two more free practice sessions and qualifying are scheduled on Friday.
